Apparition
04:49
|
|||
A scream in my room
3am but there’s no one
Nothing but the beating of my heart
Then a glowing apparition
Too faint to be real
The form of a woman
In velvet and a veil
She said: “I believed our love would be forever
I believed that we would never part
But I look in the mirror,
I see no reflection”
Just a glowing
Apparition in the dark”
She turned to my gaze
Took my hand and she stroked it
The cold of her touch
Turned my skin to ice
“A man just like you was gone
Now I’ve found you
A man just like you
Was the love of my life.”
Too real for a dream
Too strange to be real
I now understood
This story must end
I took both her hands
With this kiss I release you
And with a kiss
She was gone
I believed our love would be forever
I believed that we would never part
But I look in the mirror,
And I see my reflection
No glowing
Apparition in the dark

Zombie Girl
03:16
|
|||
I met her in a club, playing gothic punk
She shambled over, I thought that she was drunk
The way she dressed stood out from the rest,
then there was that smell
Sticky sweet like well cured meat
I think that's when I fell for
For Zombie Girl
I think it's funny that she likes blood stains
Zombie Girl
She likes her salad with a side of brains
She tried to warn me away
Turned toward me to say
Don't you know I am a Zombie. I am a Zombie Girl
I think it's cute, the way she like to file her teeth
She might give me chills, but she would never give me grief
She's a little morbid
And her humor's kind of dark
One day she might eat it
But she would never break my heart
My Zombie Girl
I think it's funny that she likes blood stains
Zombie Girl
She likes her salad with a side of brains
She tried to warn me away
Turned toward me to say
Don't you know I am a Zombie. I am a Zombie Girl

Wolfman
03:43
|
|||
Oh no, it’s a full moon tonight
Mothers and lovers hold their babies tight
I wish I could go walk with them tonight
It seems so simple, it seems so right
Such a happy thought, I could do it, I know
Like holding my breath for an hour
But will I? I don’t think so
Wolfman lives a lonely life
Wolfman hates the moonlight
Wolfman doesn’t mean to hurt no one
Wolfman coming, everybody run!
Oh no, it’s a full moon tonight
Mothers and lovers hold their babies tight
I wish I could go walk with them tonight
Such a happy thought, I could do it, I know
Like holding my breath for an hour
But the crowds run when my claws grow
Oh no, it’s a full moon tonight

Call Me Frankenstein
05:03
|
|||
We first met on a dark and dreary night,
For a doctor, she seemed uptight,
She asked me if I was happy, with my life so far,
She told me that she really liked my scar.
Now you can call me Frankenstein,
A self-made man of the different kind,
I'm build from parts, the world left behind,
You can call me, Frankenstein
An evil laboratory is what she had in mind,
Experimental research on mankind,
She strapped me down, took me apart, grabbed my brain and stirred,
Swapped out my pieces with ones she preferred.
Now you can call me Frankenstein,
A self-made man of the different kind,
I'm build from parts, the world left behind,
You can call me, Frankenstein
So I wandered town to town, terrorizing all I found,
Until one day I realized that I don't mind, when they call me Frankenstein.
Now you can call me Frankenstein,
A self-made man of the different kind,
I'm build from parts, the world left behind,
You can call me, Frankenstein

Drinking With a Robot
04:11
|
|||
A hundred years ago
Old papers tell me so
We’d go out for dancing
And drinking with our friends
Then 30 years ago,
Last century, I know
We’d go out for dancing
And drinking with our friends
How did it come to this?
Is there something we forgot?
Now I’m singing, dancing
Drinking with a robot
A hundred years away,
We’ll go clubbing every day
We’ll be singing, laughing,
Drinking with a robot
I can’t explain how,
but piece-by-piece we allow
Our parts are changing,
but we’re drinking with a robot
And the robot’s very rude
With a nasty attitude
But he can keep a secret
And hold his liquor down
And the last piece they replaced,
On the last man on the Earth
Was the part he needed
To remember who he was

Don't Mean Nothin'
03:10
|
|||
You always wanted, to be something you're not,
You were always pretty, but you were never hot,
Satisfaction wasn't good enough, you needed bliss,
Tried to remember, but you could only reminisce.
You can cheat and you can lie,
Make them bleed or make them cry,
Pull the thunder from the sky,
But it don't mean nothing to me.
I remember when we first met, you punched me in the face,
An evil smile from ear to ear, in knee socks and lace,
I should have known to leave you alone, just walked away,
You knew one thing was true, I loved a good cliché.
You can cheat and you can lie,
Make them bleed or make them cry,
Pull the thunder from the sky,
But it don't mean nothing to me.
You once told me, you were an honest thief,
Then robbed me blind and left me behind, with my honest grief,
Now you've come looking for someone, to help you out,
And you're surprised when you look in my eyes, and only see my doubt.
You can cheat and you can lie,
Make them bleed or make them cry,
Pull the thunder from the sky,
But it don't mean nothing to me.

Your Favorite Ghost
05:02
|
|||
I once knew a man no-one could understand
his words were twisted and bent,
They say he once stood on the edge of a wood
and met a foul shade that was sent.
Well I can relate to this cruel twist of fate
and the sour taste of destiny,
Cause I've lived my life like the blade of a knife
severing those close to me.
So raise up your glasses and give us a toast
to the fond memory of your favorite ghost,
Cause without the spirits of those who have gone
I doubt that we all could move on.
A women I once met, said she was beset
by the ghost of her self every day,
She moves through existence, keeping her distance
like a specter that stinks of decay.
She asked for a solution, demanded restitution
but only got back what she gave,
Someone suggested, she have herself tested
but I think she will take it to the grave.
So raise up your glasses and give us a toast
to the fond memory of your favorite ghost,
Cause without the spirits of those who have gone
I doubt that we all could move on.
I've been the ghost of myself for so long
haunting my life like the same old sad song,
An empty existence where you never touch
is like being a ghost pretty much.
The ghosts of the living are most unforgiving
and it's wrong to meet them in real time,
You'd be killing them you see, cause they'd no longer be
who they once were in your mind.
The truly deceased are safer at least
they can exist undisturbed,
You just reach in your mind and admire them anytime
for who or whatever they were.
So raise up your glasses and give us a toast
to the fond memory of your favorite ghost,
Cause without the spirits of those who have gone
I doubt that we all could move on.

Josephine
03:07
|

Josephine
It’s become so clear
This time, this time, we’ve come to an end
All these years
I’ve been with you
Happy, happy, half of the time
I never thought we’d say goodbye
I never thought we’d get around to saying goodbye
Oh Josephine
Josephine
After all these years
You and I, we’re two of a kind
All these years
You’ve been with me
Happy, happy, half of the time

Temptation
03:34
|
|||
Who's that laughing, at my back door,
Like a cold draught creeping, across the floor,
It's my old friend T, comrade in stagnation,
Come to keep me company, on the road to damnation.
Thank you temptation, my favorite sin,
You are the reason, that I always give in,
Temptation … temptation
What's that I hear? Ice cubes in a glass,
Like a new made promise, you know will never last,
It's my old friend whiskey, comrade in libation,
Come to keep me company, on the road to salvation.
Thank you temptation, my favorite sin,
You are the reason, that I always give in,
Temptation … temptation … temptation …

Let's Go!
03:36
|
|||
Just doing the right thing
To make you smile
To make you happy
For a while
And then your pained expression
Makes me realize
We can talk all night long
But here’s a surprise
I’m counting to 10
I’m counting to 1
My Counting’s done
Then let’s go!
Hey babe
Let’s drive all night
We could shake that feeling
That something ain’t right
But do we need this drama
In the middle of life?
It was all so simple
But here’s a surprise
And now I’m counting once again
And now let’s spin the needle
And see where it will land

Bonus Track-Six Minds
03:32
|
|||
There are six of me
And we all can see the world is at an end
Optimistically I just don’t agree
But who am I to buck the trend?
Never gave it too much thought
This situation’s all I’ve got
Six minds
Thinking on their own
Six minds
Every one a clone
You and you and you
Me and you two, too
Complicated, but it’s fine
My six minds
These are the best of times
It’s good to be alive
But I hate to be alone
So I made a crew
Out of all of you
I have friends here all the time
Never gave it too much thought
This situation’s all I’ve got
Never gave it too much thought
This situation’s all I’ve got
My six minds

Bad Jacket San Francisco, California
We like memorable choruses and thematic riffs, so some might say there are elements of '80s indie-rock in our music. Guilty as charged.
